Description

Chicken Alfredo Pizza Bowls combine the comforting flavors of creamy Alfredo pasta and savory pizza into a fun, edible bowl made from pizza dough. These bowls are filled with seasoned chicken, a rich Alfredo sauce, mozzarella, and fresh basil, making them a perfect gameday appetizer or a delicious dinner option.

Ingredients

Scale

Seasoning for Chicken

  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasonings
  • ½ tsp kosher salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper

Chicken and Dough

  • 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 16 oz pizza dough (homemade or store-bought)
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp kosher salt
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder

Cheese and Sauce

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 Tbsp chopped fresh basil
  • 1 Tbsp unsalted butter
  • ½ tsp minced garlic
  • 2 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • ½ cup milk
  • ⅓ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ¼ tsp kosher salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken: Season the chicken breasts with garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasonings, kosher salt, and black pepper. Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the chicken until fully cooked through and no longer pink inside, about 6-7 minutes per side. Remove from heat and let rest.
  2. Shape the Dough Bowls: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Divide the pizza dough into 12 equal portions. Roll each portion into a ball, then flatten and press into a bowl shape using an oven-safe muffin tin or similar form. Brush the dough with 2 tablespoons olive oil, then sprinkle with Italian seasoning, kosher salt, and garlic powder for extra flavor.
  3. Make the Alfredo Sauce: In a small saucepan, melt unsalted butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute. Whisk in softened cream cheese, then gradually whisk in the milk until smooth. Stir in grated Parmesan cheese, kosher salt, and black pepper. Cook, stirring frequently, until the sauce thickens, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Assemble the Pizza Bowls: Chop the cooked chicken into bite-sized pieces. Place some mozzarella cheese at the bottom of each dough bowl. Add chopped chicken, then pour a spoonful of Alfredo sauce over the top. Sprinkle with remaining mozzarella cheese and fresh basil.
  5. Bake the Bowls: Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the dough bowls are golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly. Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Use store-bought pizza dough for convenience or make your own for a fresher taste.
  • Substitute cooked rotisserie chicken for an easier preparation.
  • Adjust the seasoning to suit your taste preference, especially if you prefer less salt.
  • These bowls make a great gameday appetizer or a fun dinner option that kids enjoy.
  • Fresh basil can be swapped for dried Italian herbs if needed.
