Pie Base

- 2 tablespoons slivered almonds (sliced is fine)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla or almond extract
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit to prepare for baking the pie.
- Prepare the Crumble: In a medium bowl, combine the flour, sugar, rolled oats, slivered almonds, salt, and vanilla or almond extract. Mix thoroughly until well blended.
- Add Butter to Crumble: Add the cold butter pieces to the crumble mixture. Using your fingers or a pastry cutter, work the butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture forms coarse crumbs.
